Nucleus Farma Wins Award at Asia's Largest Innovation Event

The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) once again hosted the Thailand Inventors Day 2023 competition, under the theme “International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exposition” (IPITEx 2023). The event took place at Event Hall 102-104, Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand, and was attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn Debarattanasuda Kitivadhanadullasobhak, the third daughter of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and sister of the current King of Thailand, Vajiralongkorn.

IPITEx is the largest innovation competition in Asia, held annually and participated in by innovators worldwide. The event aims to foster collaboration between inventors and organizations from Thailand and various countries, including Canada, China, Croatia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sudan, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Egypt, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates.

At the event, Nucleus Farma presented its flagship products, Onoiwa MX and Rafa Komsah, as leading and high-quality natural supplements supporting the government’s health and wellness programs. The presentation was delivered in front of a panel of judges through posters, PowerPoint, and videos at each innovator’s booth. Judging was carried out by three experts from clinical and industrial fields. During the innovation competition, Edward Basilianus, CEO of Nucleus Farma, explained, “We confidently won five awards, including two gold medals, one silver medal, and two special awards medals.”

The gold medal was awarded to Onoiwa MX Neuraceutical Non-Toxic Supplement, the world’s first oral albumin treatment made from natural ingredients, and the silver medal went to Rafa Khomsah Super Potent Antioxidant, a non-toxic polyherbal formulation. The awards were presented directly by NRCT, with a total of 443 research teams from 25 countries around the world participating.

Syamsudin, a permanent professor of pharmacology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, revealed that they selected Onoiwa MX due to the frequent health issues arising from chronic diseases such as cancer, COPD, TB, type 2 diabetes, COVID-19, and burn injuries. “Onoiwa MX helps address these issues by treating hypoalbuminemia, edema, hyperglycemia, and acting as a neuroprotector. It serves as nutrition for malnourished patients, boosts the immune system, and accelerates wound healing post-surgery and childbirth while reducing swelling,” he stated in a written statement on Thursday (9/2).

Rafa Khomsah helps maintain overall health due to its high antioxidant content, which inhibits viral activity and strengthens the immune system, especially for pilgrims facing extreme weather changes. It also aids in restoring the body’s immune modulatory system in patients. Additionally, Rafa Khomsah contains temulawak extract, which functions as a hepatoprotector, safeguarding liver function.

Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of NRCT, personally congratulated Nucleus Farma, saying, “I extend my congratulations and best wishes to the team, and I look forward to welcoming them at future events. Congratulations once again.”

Professor Pawel B. Szymanski, PhD, DSC from the Medical University of Lodz, after meeting the team led by Syamsudin, along with Sucipto Kokadir and Richie Lapian, expressed his happiness and eagerness to collaborate in the future.

At the conclusion of the event, Nucleus Farma hopes that this experience will inspire other inventors and organizations to continue innovating and creating new technologies, particularly in the health sector, to help improve the health and well-being of people in Indonesia and across the globe.
